Subsidy Trial: My Son Will Face The Music, If Guilty – Tukur

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) National Chairman, Alhaji Bamanga Tukur, says if the court of law finds his son, Mahmud, guilty of the alleged charges on fuel subsidy mismanagement, he will face the wrath of the law.

Tukur spoke at the State House, Abuja, shortly after a visit of the Muslim community in the FCT led by Vice President Namadi Sambo to President Goodluck Jonathan.

Fielding questions from State House correspondents, Tukur said his son was an adult, old enough to bear responsibilities for his actions.

The PDP National Chairman, however, noted that he was not perturbed by the opinions and criticisms expressed on the issue by the public but would wait for the outcome of the court decision. “He is my son, never disowned. My son is an adult; I can assure you it is only the court of justice that will determine it. It is not justice by public opinion; it is justice by the court. As I have said, we must follow justice, whoever is found guilty will be so dealt with, if he is not, we will know,’’ he said.

Tukur’s son is presently facing trial with others for alleged involvement in fraudulent management of oil subsidy fund.
